Still alive (Life Update)

My dear readers, sorry I've been away.

Life has been a confusing blur limbo lately.

Between the recent U.S. political drama (still ongoing, though less intense), my parents' divorce, and losing my job, I don't even know where to start… but here we go.

Parent’s divorce

I saw it coming.

One downside of understanding human nature is recognising how certain actions inevitably lead to specific outcomes—and that’s exactly what unfolded in my home.

Heartbreak, endless arguments, shattered furniture on the floor.

Dark, lonely nights took a toll on my mental health. Sleep-deprived and trapped in endless overthinking, I couldn't stop imagining the worst outcomes.

Eventually, someone had to leave.

I love both my parents and did everything I could to keep them together, but sometimes, love isn’t enough. I choose to respect their decision to go their separate ways.

I got fired

Ah, yes.

With constant news of recessions and layoffs, I had already started planning for the day I’d inevitably get fired.

And then it happened.

“Sorry, Sol, we’re in the middle of a company restructure, and I’m afraid we have to let you go.”

For context, I was a Beauty Advisor in Singapore for one of the most renowned skincare brands. When I saw my dear manager replaced by foreign workers, I knew my turn was coming too.

I thanked the company and am now taking a short break to reassess my life.

What’s next from here

I will continue sharing simplified stories about human nature here on Substack, but with a stronger focus on quality—just 2 superposts per month. Each post will be proudly crafted to ensure a positive return on your time and attention.

To achieve this, I’m pausing work on Boundaries Blueprint to dedicate my efforts to improving the quality of my future articles and subsequent services.
