Raging emotions take the helm,
In moments lost, we overwhelm.
Later we ponder, "What did I think?"
Our rational minds pushed to the brink.
Like captains on life's stormy sea,
Emotions drive us, wild and free.
Without control, we lose our way,
Struggling in the fray each day.
Two millennia past, in Athens old,
Lived Pericles, steadfast and bold.
Amidst the chaos, he stayed composed,
Mastered emotions, never exposed.
Fear, envy, anger, he did not heed,
With thoughtful calm, he took the lead.
Reflect, respond, with measured grace,
He navigated each trying case.
Empathy bridges hearts and minds,
See through others' eyes, be kind.
Connect deeply, understand their view,
Foster unity, it's what leaders do.
Pericles showed us the path to take,
A leader's wisdom, for our sake.
Emotions guide us, clear or sway,
Emotions can get in the way or get you on the way.
Inspired by an essay of mine.
P.S. wow these are really fun to write but they do take a toll on my brain cells (o_o") hope you like them~
Appreciate you as always,

Remarkable that a thing can get in the way and get one on the way. Human beings are distinguished by our ability to hold two apparently contradictory thoughts in one body, one instance. This speaks to that. Thank you.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing
